Stop Guessing. Start Understanding Your Backlinks.
Get clear, practical advice for checking backlink status, identifying technical issues, and monitoring valuable placements over time.
BacklinkIndex.net is a backlink monitoring platform for SEO teams. It lets you paste backlink-page URLs, verify that each placement is live, run crawlability diagnostics, ping multiple crawl notification services to speed up search engine discovery and track status changes over time.
Sign up for a free account, paste your backlink-page URLs into the scan input (one per line or via CSV upload) and click “Start Backlink Scan.” The tool validates each URL, checks for the presence of your backlink, runs crawlability diagnostics and assigns a status. Results appear in your dashboard within minutes.
No. No tool can guarantee that a search engine will index a specific page. BacklinkIndex.net speeds up the process by submitting verified URLs through available discovery channels and flagging technical issues that delay indexing. The final indexing decision is always made by the search engine.
The free scan tool lets you check up to 10 URLs without creating an account or signing up. For ongoing monitoring, scheduled rechecks, project organisation and status history, a free account is required. Account creation takes less than a minute and needs only an email address. No credit card is required.
The tool accepts full URLs including the protocol (https:// or http://). Each URL should point to the specific page where your backlink is placed, not the domain root. URLs without a valid protocol or with formatting errors are flagged during validation before the scan begins.
Yes. You can upload a CSV file containing your backlink-page URLs. The tool reads the first column, validates each entry and removes duplicates automatically. You can also paste URLs directly into the input field, one per line.
Each URL goes through a structured pipeline: it is validated, checked for backlink presence, scanned for crawlability issues and then processed through available discovery channels. Once processed, the URL enters the monitoring queue where its status is tracked over time. You can see progress at each stage from your dashboard.
The Features page provides detailed explanations of each capability, including backlink checking, verification, crawlability diagnostics, discovery processing, monitoring and agency reporting. The Documentation section covers setup, workflow guides and status definitions.
The number depends on your plan. Free accounts can scan up to 10 URLs at a time. Pro accounts can scan up to 500 URLs per scan, and Agency accounts can scan up to 2,000 URLs per scan. For larger lists, you can run multiple scans or upload a CSV file.
Each URL receives one of five statuses. “Indexed” means the page has been found in the search engine’s index. “Monitoring” means the page is being actively rechecked on a schedule. “Pending” means the latest check has not yet confirmed indexing. “Blocked” means a technical issue is preventing processing. “Backlink Missing” means the page is accessible but your backlink was not detected on it.
When you submit a list of URLs, the tool automatically detects and flags exact duplicates. Duplicate entries are merged so the same page is not checked or counted twice against your plan limit. You can also use the “Remove duplicates” button before starting a scan.
A scan is a one-time check that runs when you submit URLs. It validates each page, verifies backlink presence and assigns an initial status. Monitoring is the ongoing process that follows. On Pro and Agency plans, monitored URLs are rechecked automatically on a set schedule to detect changes in status, placement or crawlability.
Yes. After a scan completes, you can filter the results table by any status (Indexed, Monitoring, Pending, Blocked, Backlink Missing) to isolate specific groups of URLs. Filters also apply to CSV exports, so you can download a report containing only the URLs you need.
Click the CSV export button on your scan results or project page. The export includes every URL along with its status, backlink verification result, crawlability diagnostics and the date of the last check. You can filter by status or date range before exporting.
If a URL returns a timeout, connection error or HTTP error code during the scan, it is flagged as “Blocked” with a specific diagnostic explaining the issue (e.g., “HTTP 503” or “Connection timed out”). The failed check does not count toward your monitored URL limit. You can re-scan the URL later once the issue is resolved.
Yes. You can manually re-scan any URL at any time by running a new scan with the same URLs. On Pro and Agency plans, URLs in your monitoring queue are rechecked automatically based on your scheduled recheck interval.
Backlink verification fetches the submitted page and scans the HTML for a link pointing to your target URL. It confirms whether the backlink exists, captures the anchor text, records the destination URL, checks the link attribute (follow, nofollow, sponsored, UGC) and logs the time of the most recent verification.
The tool extracts the visible anchor text from the detected backlink and displays it in the verification panel. This lets you confirm that the anchor text matches what was agreed in a placement or outreach arrangement. If the anchor text changes between rechecks, the change is logged in the URL’s status history.
“Backlink Missing” means the submitted page is accessible and loads without errors, but the tool could not find a link pointing to your target URL anywhere on the page. This can happen when a link is removed by the publisher, when the page content is restructured, or when the link is loaded through JavaScript that the tool cannot render.
The tool reads the rel attribute of each detected backlink. Links marked as rel=”nofollow”, rel=”sponsored” or rel=”ugc” are flagged accordingly in the verification panel. This lets you confirm whether a placement carries the link attribute you expected. If the attribute changes between rechecks, the change is logged.
The diagnostics panel checks HTTP response status, robots.txt access, meta robots directives, redirect chains, canonical URL settings, access restrictions and page load availability. Each check returns a specific result (e.g., “200 OK”, “Allowed”, “Self-referencing”) so you can see exactly what is and is not working.
If the submitted URL redirects to a different page, the tool logs the redirect type (301, 302, etc.), the number of hops and the final destination URL. The backlink verification then runs against the final destination to check whether your link is present there. Redirect chains are flagged as a potential crawlability issue.
Verification begins immediately after the URL passes validation. For small batches (under 50 URLs), results typically appear within one to two minutes. Larger batches are processed in sequence and may take longer depending on page response times and queue volume.
The tool checks the raw HTML response of each page. If a backlink is injected through client-side JavaScript after the page loads, the tool may not detect it. In this case, the URL would be flagged as “Backlink Missing.” If you know the link requires JavaScript rendering, note this when reviewing flagged results.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge for the remainder of your billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If your current usage exceeds the lower plan’s limits, you will need to remove URLs or projects before the downgrade is applied.
A monitored URL is any unique backlink-page address that is actively stored in one of your monitoring projects. Each URL counts once toward your plan limit regardless of how many rechecks it goes through. Removing a URL from monitoring frees up that slot.
No. If a check fails because the page returned an error, timed out or could not be reached, it does not consume a URL slot. Only URLs that are successfully processed and stored in a monitoring project count toward your limit.
Yes. Yearly billing saves 20% compared to monthly billing on both Pro and Agency plans. Pro drops from $29/month to $23/month, and Agency drops from $79/month to $63/month. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time.
Scheduled rechecks are included on Pro and Agency plans. Free accounts can re-scan URLs manually by running a new scan, but automatic scheduling is not available on the Free plan.
Yes. Agency plans include dedicated client workspaces that let you separate monitored URLs, projects and reports by client. Each workspace is isolated, so one client’s data is never visible to another. Team members can be assigned to specific workspaces.
You can monitor URLs up to your plan’s limit. Once the limit is reached, you will need to remove existing URLs or upgrade your plan to add more. Historical data for removed URLs is retained on Pro and Agency plans so you can re-add them later without losing status history.
Yes. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel from your account settings at any time. Your plan remains active until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan and any URLs or projects above the Free plan limits are paused.
The platform collects the URLs you submit, the results of backlink verification and crawlability checks, your account information (email, name, company) and usage data related to scans, projects and monitoring. We do not collect data from pages beyond what is needed to verify backlink presence and run diagnostics.
All account data, scan results and monitoring records are stored on encrypted servers hosted in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Backups are maintained for disaster recovery and are subject to the same encryption and access controls.
No. Your submitted URLs, scan results, verification data and monitoring records are never shared with other users, third-party services or advertising platforms. Your data is accessible only to your account and any team members you have invited.
Yes. On Agency plans, each client workspace is fully isolated at the data level. URLs, projects, scan results and reports within one workspace are not visible or accessible from any other workspace, even to the account owner’s other clients.
Yes. You can request full account deletion from your account settings or by contacting [email protected]. Upon deletion, all scan results, monitoring history, project data and personal information are permanently removed. This action cannot be reversed.
No. The URLs you submit are used only to run backlink verification, crawlability diagnostics and discovery processing for your account. They are not aggregated, analysed for trends, sold or used to build any external dataset.
Payment processing is handled by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. BacklinkIndex.net does not store your full credit card number, CVV or billing details on its own servers. You can manage your payment method and billing history from your account settings.
